How does Gardencosts actually work?

How often are your items updated?
Consistently, all items are checked regularly. Additionally if price notifications are received, then these are applied to the database.
What about the labour rates in my area?
When you set up your Job, you select your region, and this factors the labour rate. The database assumes consistent material pricing throughout the country.
How do you differentiate between the costs on larger and smaller jobs?
There are options on delivery sizes (bags/full loads etc). Additionally, when you set up a job, you are asked the approximate budget and the database allocates job size factoring to the calculation.
If I cant find something I need what do I do?
Call us and we will either add it to the database or give you guidance if it’s a bespoke item. We’d love to hear from you.
How do you calculate the costs?
We take the current material labour and plant prices in a database and we calculate every item using first principles to extract a rate.
What about the different options on getting pricing from contractors?
The system lets you set how you would wish to let your contract, e.g. Competitive tender, preferred contractor etc.
What about variations of my design?
You can duplicate a costing and add or delete various options to it.
How do I issue the costing to a client?
You can download it in pdf or as a spreadsheet and edit it.
